BREAK-Through

What’s up guys! Having trouble seeing a breakthrough in your life? Running up against walls of adversity and don't know how to get around them? Do not be ashamed, all of us are facing this in some area of our life. In fact, since you are, you are in prime position to see a major shift in who you are because of this.

A BREAK-Through can mean many different things depending on who you are talking to. The main thing to remember though is that it involves a break. Not a break from work or effort. Instead, this is a breaking of the opposition. Well, what do you mean? I’m glad you asked. By military/warfare standards breakthrough involves an assault that penetrates and carries beyond a defensive line. So this means you have to gather enough momentum in your assault of what’s holding you back in order to break the limits it has placed on you. Need examples? Well, here you go. When lifting weights you will eventually get to a weight that becomes too heavy for you to lift in this case the limit/barrier you have reached is called your max. This max was imposed on you by the amount of weight that has been added to your exercise. In order to set a new max, you have to put in enough effort and force to overcome the barrier of weight. This does not happen just because you get rest and try harder the next time. You have to train yourself. Taking into account where you are currently, slowly step away from what is comfortable for you. Adding more as you can handle it to strengthen you as you push further. As you begin to BREAK what is comfortable you begin to slowly gain the strength and mental capacity to push past the limit that stopped you before.

While we are talking about mental capacity, let me just say that your mindset of what you are able to do matters just as much if not more than your actual strength. If your opposition can get you to believe that you are weaker than you really are then you will never put in the proper amount of mental effort to defeat it.

The word break is a very violent word. By definition, the word means to separate into pieces as a result of a blow, shock or strain. Are you forcefully fighting and delivering blows against what is fighting you or are you politely sitting back and asking your opposition to stop fighting you so hard? I want you to understand that the things fighting against you, whether it be your weight, your finances or lack thereof and even things spiritually, are fighting against you with all that it has until it dies. It did not once ask you if it was okay to come against you. So why not fight back with all that you have without restraint? Be forceful in your prayer. Be forceful in your training. Most of all, be forceful in your discipline of yourself.

The second part of the word is through. Meaning to move from one side and out of the other. A problem we all have to some degree and need to get rid of is our want to get out. We need to develop a desire to get through. When getting a true breakthrough it does not cause you to get out of your situation but you gather the strength, wisdom, and clarity to break-THROUGH the line of opposition. Do not try to get out of this season of your life or your current physical problems gather the strength, resources and mental capacity to get through them. Your blessing is not out of the storm it is through it. Get through it!

So to pull it all together if you are in need of a BREAK-Through do NOT stand down. Become violent in your fight against what has been holding you and keeping you back. Once you begin your fight keep the assault going until you begin to crack the line of defense. After that initial crack is formed don't stop there keep going until you are completely through the ENTIRE thing. For some, your assault will be prayer, for others it will be discipline. Whatever it is for you remain consistent with your pursuit. This week did not have a focal scripture but if I had to give you anything to go along with it it would be Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” So I pray that you would be strong and courageous to face whatever is opposing you and keeping you from seeing a greater you. I pray that you would continue to push and fight until you break through everything in your path. God, please give us the boldness to fight and the wisdom on how to fight. In Jesus name, I do pray. Amen.
